At the 2004 California Association of Local Agency Formation Commissions (CALAFCO) Conference in Anaheim, San Diego LAFCO received the award for Most Effective Commission, in recognition of outstanding efforts that benefit the LAFCO community. CALAFCO is an organization dedicated to assisting member LAFCOs, and serves as a resource to the California Legislature and other government agencies and organizations.
