We invite amateur photographers local to Carlsbad to capture the city through four categories:

1 - City Identity: Showcase an iconic part of the city, something that’s unmistakably Carlsbad.

2 - Municipal Services: Think of services that make the community run, water, garbage, fire, etc.

3 - Carlsbad Community: A community is nothing without its people. Show what life looks like here.

4 - Natural Carlsbad: Depict agricultural and/or natural spaces found in and around Carlsbad.

Contest Rules:

• Submissions that do not adhere to the rules will not be considered.
• Contestants must reside within the City of Carlsbad.
• Contestants must be amateur photographers, meaning they have never filled an IRS Form 1099 for earnings made from photography.
• Electronic files must be uploaded for entry. These files must be between 2 and 10 megabytes (MB).
• Only one file/entry can be made at a time. For additional entries, the form must be filled out again.
• Photographers can enter a maximum of 4 entries.
• By submitting an entry, photographers are releasing artistic rights to San Diego County LAFCO for use of the submitted photo in promotional material, reports, website and social media use, and other publications.
• Submissions must be received by 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 10th.
