LAFCO has received a resolution of application from the County of San Diego requesting reorganization proceedings with the principal action involving the dissolution of County Service Area (CSA) No. 69. The proposal further requests Lakeside Fire Protection District (FPD) and City of Santee proportionally serve as successor agencies to CSA No. 69 and assume its active ambulance transport services within the approximate 40,320 acre affected territory. A concurrent annexation of two areas located in the Bostonia and Pepper Drive communities to Lakeside FPD that account for 439 acres and 240 acres, respectively, is also proposed to ensure all of the affected territory is covered by one of the two successor agencies. (The proposed annexation would be limited to Lakeside FPD’s ambulance services only; the subject lands are already within the San Miguel Consolidated FPD.) Related sphere of influence actions would also be necessitated to accommodate the proposed reorganization.
